Lumoava jewelry is handcrafted in Finland with over 80 years of craftsmanship from 100% recycled silver (925) and gold (585). Lumoava jewelry does not contain nickel. All Lumoava jewelry has the Lumoava name stamp (LU) and a purity stamp, which together indicate the authenticity of the jewelry.

CARE: Silver jewelry naturally darkens over time, which is why we rhodium-plated most of our silver jewelry. Rhodium plating prevents the natural darkening of silver, which is mainly caused by sulfur in the air and the acidic pH of the skin.
You can help your silver jewelry stay bright for longer by washing it regularly. Dirt and grease accumulated on the jewelry make it dull and contribute to its wear. Wash your silver jewelry with warm water with a mild soap (e.g. dishwashing liquid) and a very soft brush. After washing, wipe the jewelry dry with a soft cotton cloth. Unfortunately, washing with water and soap alone will not help the natural darkening of silver.
PLATING: Gold plating is a coating that Lumoava uses on both silver and bronze jewelry. It finishes the surface with real gold and makes it glow, valuable and durable. Gold plating does not react with chemicals, but is mainly affected by mechanical abrasion - that is why re-plating is recommended for rings when necessary. With the right coating thickness, gold plating will last the entire life of earrings, pendants and bracelets.
